EMERALD CUT
With its long, parallel, step-cut facets and clipped corners, the emerald cut is among the most elegant of the cuts. Usually rectangular in shape, with 57 facets, its large table - the flat facet at the top of the gem - creates a window into the stone. Although most emerald cuts are rectangular, square variations exist, and these are called square emerald cuts.
