The SB Engraving Service

Add a personal touch to your Sophie Breitmeyer jewellery with the SB engraving service and transform your purchase into a one-of-a-kind piece that tells the story of its owner.

Available on select jewels, including SB disc pendants, wedding and eternity bands, cufflinks, charm bracelets and signet rings, our expert engravers are here to capture your sentiments and memories through laser engraved initials, dates, messages, images and even fingerprints.

Laser engraving is free of charge for all SB wedding and engagement rings, with hand engraving available for signet rings and cufflinks, upon request. For signet rings, we also offer traditional crest seal engraving, with the design of your choice engraved by hand in reverse into the ring so that the wax impression shows an accurate representation of your artwork.

THE ENGRAVING OPTIONS

1. Date, initials or message

Available on all SB cufflinks, disc pendants, rings and bands, with the exception of our Russian rings. Add a laser engraved date, initials or short message to our cufflinks or the inner band of your chosen ring (up to 10 characters) or personalise our disc pendants with initials (up to two characters) in the font of your choice. Please see below for font options.

2. Image

From a favourite pet to a sign of the zodiac, we can engrave any type of image onto our disc pendants, cufflinks and signet rings. Please email us with the image of your choice or book a Ready-To-Wear appointment to discuss your engraving in person, with the option of laser engraving or hand engraving.

3. Family crest

A signet ring can be customised in a multitude of ways, with monogram lettering, the lucky talisman of your choice or a family crest, either laser or hand engraved. Another option is the traditional method of seal engraving, which reverses your family crest so that when it is pressed into wax, the impression shows an accurate representation of the design.

4. Finger Print

Available on all SB disc pendants, oval pendants and cufflinks, fingerprint engraving captures the unique essence of a loved one, preserving their one-of-a-kind identity in a tangible and enduring form. Please see below for a detailed description of the process.

Our Font Selection

Once you’ve decided what you want to say, it’s time to choose the font you wish to say it in. We offer 15 different fonts, from the classic simplicity of Arial to the old-world elegance of Edwardian Script. Please let us know your preference at checkout.

Finger Print Engraving

Keep your family close to your heart with our fingerprint engraving service. Laser engraved so that every unique whorl is visible, fingerprint engraving is available for all SB disc pendants, oval pendants and cufflinks, using an impression kit.

Order your kit

THE FINGER PRINT PROCESS

Step 1

When you place your order, choose the option of fingerprint engraving and we will send you a link to request a fingerprint kit, delivered to your home.

Step 2

Using the fingerprint kit, create an imprint of the fingerprint you would like engraved using the ink pad provided. Please note that the engraving will accurately reflect the fingerprint you provide to us. We recommend creating multiple prints until you have several options you are happy with. Step 3

Email high-resolution photographs to us of the fingerprint. Please include at least two options and we will choose the best. We reserve the right to refuse a fingerprint if it is not defined enough for engraving. For children’s fingerprints, they must be five years old or above because the fingerprints of babies and young children are not yet fully developed.

Step 4

Our craftspeople will scan the fingerprint and laser engrave it onto your SB jewel, followed by a final polish to restore its shine. As soon as it has been returned to us, we will send your engraved jewel to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery or Parcelforce for international orders, or we will let you know it’s ready to collect from our Notting Hill boutique.

Additional Informations

While our engravings are very robust, if a jewel is worn frequently, the engraving is likely to wear away over time. The character count for rings - 10 - is not universal. For disc pendants, there is only space for two initials. Please check the individual product pages for more details. Finally, for our SB Disc and Shooting Star bracelets, there is only space to engrave initials. For the Shooting Star bracelet, the initials can only be added below the star and cannot be centred because of the depth of the metal where the diamond is set.
