TSAVORITE
One of the most valuable varieties of the garnet family, the tsavorite was only discovered in the 1960s in Africa, near the border between Kenya and Tanzania. A beautiful gemstone with a naturally vivid, clean green colour, the tsavorite is a great alternative to an emerald because it is both more durable and more affordable.

SAPPHIRE
Among the most treasured of all the gemstones, sapphires are a variety of the mineral corundum that are known for their exceptional beauty, hardness and durability. EMERALD CUT
With its long, parallel, step-cut facets and clipped corners, the emerald cut is among the most elegant of the cuts. Usually rectangular in shape, with 57 facets, its large table - the flat facet at the top of the gem - creates a window into the stone. Although most emerald cuts are rectangular, square variations exist, and these are called square emerald cuts. diamond side stones.
Powerfully designed to be elegant yet dramatic, it is the perfect choice if you are looking for an engagement ring that is completely unique.
For the Mine To Mount Project, Sophie travelled to Kenya to see first-hand where the Tsavorites she loves to use in her designs originate from. This 2.14ct emerald cut Tsavorite was sourced directly from an artisanal mine located just outside Tsavo National Park.
All proceeds go to to Gem Legacy, a non-profit charity that promotes community development in East African artisanal gem mining communities.
