One of the most valuable varieties of the garnet family, the tsavorite was only discovered in the 1960s in Africa, near the border between Kenya and Tanzania. For the Mine To Mount Project, Sophie travelled to Kenya to see first-hand where the Tsavorites she loves to use in her designs originate from. This 2.14ct emerald cut Tsavorite was sourced directly from an artisanal mine located just outside Tsavo National Park.
All proceeds go to to Gem Legacy, a non-profit charity that promotes community development in East African artisanal gem mining communities.
