Our CLAW SET
CLAW SETThe most popular way of setting a gem, the claw setting is a very secure method of holding a diamond or gemstone in place using tiny slivers of metal known as 'claws' or 'prongs' that hook over the stone.
baguette Diamond & EMERALD
EMERALD
The birthstone of May, emerald is a variety of the mineral beryl that gets its rich green colour from trace amounts of chromium or vanadium. Revered for thousands of years, emeralds are among the more highly included of the precious stones, however their unique patterns of inclusions - known as ‘jardins’ and typically moss-like in appearance - are often viewed as desirable features. However, this does make them more brittle and vulnerable to cracking and chipping. With a hardness of 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale, because of their inherent inclusions emeralds are often treated with oils or resins to enhance their clarity.
TENNIS
TENNIS
Featuring a symmetrical line of diamonds that extends all the way around the wrist, the tennis bracelet is so called because of an incident at the 1987 U.S. Open Tennis Championships. The professional tennis player, Chris Evert, lost her diamond bracelet during a match and the subsequent search for it, which was broadcast live on TV, earned this classic style of bracelet its name.
Bracelet works just as well on its own as it does layered in a wrist stack. Claw set with alternating baguette-cut diamonds and round emeralds in 14 karat yellow gold, it introduces a subtle note of precious colour to a classic Sophie Breitmeyer design.
