The Bespoke Process

For Sophie the most important thing she wants her clients to understand is that this is a collaborative process. She and her team are very straightforward, working with you throughout every stage of design from beginning to end, giving you as much or as little guidance as you need to achieve the perfect piece…

1

First Meeting: We like to start the process by having an informal discussion either in our Notting Hill studio (where you will be offered a beer) or if you are an international client via FaceTime. During our initial meeting we will walk you through what the options are to achieve any design ideas and concepts, if you have them, within budget. We can also make some of our own design suggestions, according to your brief and budget. Do not fear if you don’t know where to start, we can use this time to work though any questions you may have alongside anything you need to know re. diamonds and or coloured stones such as the 4C’s

2

Stone/s Selection: Whether the centre stone of your bespoke piece is a diamond or a gemstone this is usually where the majority of your budget ends up therefore its important we work through this stage until we have the perfect stone. We do not hold a large stock of stones all of our stone selections are done specifically to the individual clients design ideas and budgets. We work with the very best dealers globally, who are committed to sustainable practices as well as upholding the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). Throughout this part of the process we will explain the implications of the cut, carat, clarity and colour of different stones. Choosing options remotely is now made easy with diamond certificates, pictures, videos and scale drawings which we can send to you via a secure link, WhatsApp or email.

The Design: Guided by you, Sophie will begin to draft a variety of 2D design ideas and price points using your chosen stone/s until you have agreed on a final design and cost. These drawings will be done to scale and can be sent as soft copies. Only once you have chosen your stone/s and begun the design stage do we ask for a deposit of 50% of the max. total. The rest is due upon completion. Once a design has been established our CAD technician will create 3D renderings of the finished piece and make any adjustments or amendments required.

4

3D Printing & Hand Mounting: This is the final stage where we can make amendments, once we have perfected the design, we can print a 3D wax of the finished piece for you to see before we print individual components of the final piece to be committed to metal.  Your piece is then hand mounted using traditional jewellery manufacturing techniques and set with the stones of your choice.

Its’s all yours…
