Avoid wearing your jewellery in mineral baths, spas and swimming pools, as the salt water and chlorine may affect the metal finish.
Remove your jewellery before exercising or prior to bedtime. Excessive perspiration and body oils can tarnish the piece.
Before you put any jewellery on, be sure any lotions, perfumes and make up are absorbed into your skin.
Remove your jewellery when cleaning. Harsh chemicals like household cleaning products will tarnish metal.
Diamonds are naturally occurring hard stones but can get damaged when knocked. Precious metal and semi precious stones are much softer and therefore also not indestructible. We advise all ur clients to remove their jewellery when lifting heavy objects, using gym machinery or doing extreme activities.
Do not store your jewellery next to heating vents, window sills or in a car. The less air and light your jewellery is exposed to when you aren’t wearing it, the less tarnish will occur.
Ideally, store your jewellery in a soft lined box or pouch. Try to keep pieces apart, so that they so don’t rub together or tangle up.
If your jewellery has been worn frequently, it tends to need a little clean. The best way to do this is with a toothbrush and warm soapy water. Pour some water into a container, apply a small amount of soap to the brush and simply start rubbing. Alternatively you can purchase a mini ultrasonic machine for a deeper clean.
Never use tissues or paper towels to clean your jewellery. These products will scratch the surface of the jewellery.
